Great way to describe this cultural difference which is obvious when there but hard to articulate. I remember while working in the Uk how we would make fun of the French because their idea of a working lunch was to go out for a two hour three course meal while ours was sandwiches in the meeting room. We were so certain that our way was better - the prioritising of efficiency and optimisation you talked of. It’s provided economic growth perhaps but what we’ve given up money can’t buy. It’s not just the weather people (incl myself) are planning moves to the old world.
