It is eye-opening to see how YouTube uses AI in its search algorithm, but I think it has much room for improvement. If I type in Battle of Stalingrad, for instance, I will be taken to a raft of videos on that topic, but will subsequently be deluged with related videos for several screen updates, and even be force-fed Stalingrad options on TikTok shorts. The algorithm may assume I am fascinated with this topic and also start shoving Kursk, Battle of the Bulge and various other WWII videos my way. It is clear to me that, on the one hand, AI feeds and reflects my interest, but on the other, it is shunting me into certain silos chosen, in the background, by its programmers.

One may be conscious of the mind-control, or not. We all occupy our own silos.

I saw an interesting TikTok video yesterday of a high school English teaching blasting a bunch of his students for using AI, or outright plagiarism, to craft their essays for class. Based on your chart it looks like they may be headed for the trough of disillusionment, har har.
