Really interesting analysis Tom. Haven't got to read Meditations, but did sometimes wondered why so many people who I would consider non-readers, certainly non-philosophy readers, have read it and got through it. Learnings seem bite sized and easily shared as well.
I am actually re-reading the book Meditations now. And loving it. There are so many verses that are so profound & I find myself taking refuge in them every now and then!
Good capture of the current "attention deficit" scenario!
Tom, Millennial Marcus Aurelius, denuded of his backwards baseball cap, and clad instead in a black beanie becomes strangely Tim Poolesque. Thanks for your suggestions on the Four C’s. Today, I’ll just focus on keeping it concise. See you on the Substack flip side!

Thanks, Kevin! I can’t recommend it more strongly alongside these books too: https://www.tomwhitenoise.com/bookshelf
This is definitely why. Short aphorisms, like Nietzsche, only you don't have to think too much about them.
If Marcus is algebra, Nietzsche is calculus!

Amen!
I'm glad our conversation sparked such a great post. And I would add my recommendation of Meditations to Tom's. It's a great book.
Thank you for listening to me prattle on!
Thanks for the shout out Tom. It was scary seeing those data on declining attention 🫣
Marcus Aurelius as a millennial is pure gold! haha
And just for the record (because I lost some subscribers who didn't realise my thread boi post was satire): my thread boi post is satire
That’s the very sign of good satire!
